Part of Alessi’s Values Collection and sure to become a collector's item, Aldo Rossi’s La Conica espresso coffee maker has been introduced with a light blue knob and horizontal light blue handle. Celebrating Alessi’s 100 year history with six values, this special edition piece reflects the sixth value - Research Lab - and Alessi’s commitment to experimental design. Rossi, the first Italian architect to win the prestigious Pritzker Architect Award, clearly brought his architectural background to the design of this iconic moka pot. The pot is like a narrow conical-roofed house in miniature size. This is the original design for La conica before its introduction in 1983, when the design was modified for mass production. The stainless steel pot has a base made of copper, an excellent conductor of heat.
